Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 10, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to InkPalette. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website, iOS app, and related services. By using InkPalette, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (encrypted). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and a unique identifier from that provider — we never receive your password from these services.

When you use InkPalette while signed in, we store your search history (color codes you search for), your favorite inks, and any feature requests or comments you submit. Our color matching service processes your color selections through our servers to find matching inks.

On the iOS app, if you choose to select a photo for color picking, the image is processed on your device and only the selected color is sent to our servers. We do not store your photos.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve InkPalette's services: to authenticate your account, sync your favorites and search history across devices, send account-related emails (welcome, password reset, email confirmation), and display relevant ink recommendations.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your language preference, and improve your browsing experience. On the iOS app, authentication tokens are stored securely in the device Keychain.

5. Third-Party Services

InkPalette uses the following third-party services that may collect information:

  • Google Analytics — to understand how our website is used (page views, general usage patterns). This data is anonymized.
  • Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Google, your authentication is handled by Google's servers.
  • Apple Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Apple, your authentication is handled by Apple. You may choose to hide your email address.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app or website, which will permanently remove your account and all associated data including your search history, favorites, feature requests, and comments.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Passwords are encrypted using industry-standard hashing. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication tokens on iOS are stored in the secure Keychain. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Children's Privacy

InkPalette is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the date at the top.
